Activities:

• • Optical design and/or simulation using subject specific simulation, calculation and CAD programs: ZKW internal software (LDS, BEAST), software from external suppliers (Speos, Lucid-Shape, Zemax, CATIA, etc.)
  • Documentation of one’s work within the engineering project (simulation / test results, customer presentations, etc.) according to ZKW standards.
  • Requesting prototypes for the verification of optical designs when required and coordination of the build-up of photometric samples. 
  • Verification & validation of optical performance of headlamp & optical components by performing simulations and evaluating and analyzing photometric measurements according to internal and customer specifications.
  • Trigger measurement and simulation workflows concerning the analysis of optical components (light laboratory, geometrical measurement, etc.)
  • Supporting or contributing to the development of calculation and simulation programs for the development of optical components.
  • Coordination of optical topics within responsibility up to the finished product in the context of industrialization.
  • Performing concept work and feasibility studies during RFQ, in pre development,and development projects.
  • Alignment and coordination with project team, customer and supplier on optically relevant topics.
  • Coordinating of and cooperation with external engineering partners as defined by superior.
  • Analyzing benchmark samples.
  • Supporting serial production after 6M-SOP on light related issues.
  • Contributing to the development of guidelines regarding tools and methods and supporting their roll out to other departments and locations.
  • Training & mentoring of new employees as defined by superior.
  • Managing internal development projects as defined by superior.
  • Supervision of diploma theses and internships in internal projects as defined by superior.
  • Participating in global OE meetings and contributing to or leading Networks.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

• • HTL-, technical college or university degree (technical / scientific field of study such as: mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, electronics, communications engineering, mechatronics, etc.).
  • English B2/C1.
  • Very good knowledge in optical basics.
  • Good knowledge in mathematics.
  • Good knowledge in physics.
  • Programming knowledge (preferably C / C ++).
